Hera Hilmar (Richard Carne Trust scholar and William and Katherine Longman Charitable Trust scholar) came to LAMDA from Iceland to train on our BA (Hons) Professional Acting from 2008-2011. She was also supported through the Lilian Baylis Award in her final year. Hera has already appeared in several major television and film projects, including ITV drama Leaving, literary adaptation World Without End and as recurring character Vanessa in the BBC Worldwide series Da Vinci’s Demons – alongside a host of other LAMDA graduates including Tom Riley (Genesis Foundation scholar and Snipe Charitable Trust scholar) as Leonardo Da Vinci. On the big screen, Hera featured in Joe Wright’s Oscar-nominated Anna Karenina and alongside fellow LAMDA alumnus Benedict Cumberbatch in The Fifth Estate.
