Online Audition Coaching
Is this course for me?
Whether you’re applying to drama school or working on new material for professional auditions, this new one-week online intensive provides an opportunity to develop your creative skills, from learning about audition techniques, classical text, contemporary theatre, Zoom auditions and self-taping.
Overall every teacher was passionate about their craft. Probably some of the most passionate and knowledgeable I’ve ever had. They all clearly love what they do so that made it all the more enjoyable.
In order to train on this course, you should have a level of English that is approximately IELTS 6.0. Although English language tests aren't mandatory, we recommend that if you are a non-native English speaker without a Level 6 IELTS, then you must have the equivalent English language experience. This will be assessed via telephone interview by the admissions team.

All about the course
The key to a good audition in any context is that you feel confident in the room (Or, these days – on Zoom!) This five-day course focuses on useful tips and techniques to approach auditions – and, to enjoy them. It offers a great insight into the fun and rigour of drama training. Taught by the same tutors and industry professionals as our full-time acting courses, the course provides industry insight on audition preparation, selecting appropriate speeches that really show who you are, an introduction to self-taping and an example of a Zoom audition. During the week you’ll experience a range of mock auditions that you’ll receive feedback on. It culminates in a panel audition with LAMDA creatives where you’ll put your new skills and techniques into practice, perform classical and contemporary speeches and present scene-work for camera.
This course is not validated by a higher education institution (HEI). It is one of LAMDA’s own range of non-accredited courses. Once you've completed the course, you will receive a LAMDA short course certificate.
What will I be doing?
Each day will be different, as you’ll be introduced to a new skill every day! The following areas will be covered during the week:
- Vocal technique
- Physical work and warm-ups
- Classical and contemporary theatre auditions
- Acting for the screen
- Zoom auditions and self-taping*
*Please note that material recorded on this course cannot be made available for use outside of LAMDA.
