Each year at LAMDA our students collaborate with acclaimed writers and directors to create original short films. Take a look below to read more about the industry professionals our students have been working with in their final year.

Daniel Kanaber
LAMDA 2017 Film: At Their Best, Writer
Daniel has written on invitation groups for the BBC, Royal Court, and Soho Theatre amongst many others. Shiver was his first full length play to be professionally produced and received its world premiere at Watford Palace Theatre in 2014. David’s YEAR short film Strays, which was longlisted for a BAFTA, is now being developed into a feature film.

A J Quinn
LAMDA 2017 Film: At Their Best and Payback, Director
Anthony is a BAFTA-nominated director, having worked in theatre, radio and television drama, with credits on over 100 hours of primetime television drama. Anthony has been the Head of Screen and Audio Performance at LAMDA since 2011.

Vickie Donoghue
LAMDA 2017 Film: Campaign, Director
Vickie is a writer for TV and playwright; her debut full-length play Mudlarks garnered wide spread critical acclaim. Vickie has also collaborated with Theatre Royal Portsmouth and the Royal Court as a writer-on-attachment and is currently writing an original drama with the BBC in-house as part of their Drama Writers’ scheme.

Pier Wilkie
LAMDA 2017 Film: Campaign, Director
Pier is a director and BAFTA-winning producer, including the Best Single Drama BAFTA for Don’t Take my Baby (2016) and the Best Drama Serial BAFTA for Criminal Justice (2009). Pier also directed one of LAMDA’s 2015 films, Ebb and Flow

Roger Hyams
LAMDA 2017 Film: Circadia, Writer & Director
Roger is a writer, lyricist, film-maker and script editor. Roger’s latest short film, Elsewhere, was selected for the 2016 London Short Film Festival, the Lisbon International Film Festival and the LA Cinefest. Roger has written seven films for LAMDA, many of which can be viewed on our YouTube channel.

Alex Warren
LAMDA 2017 Film: Midnight Symphony, Writer and Director
Actor, writer and director Alex is a LAMDA graduate. He co-wrote and directed the 2015 short film Eleanor, starring Golden-Globe winner and fellow LAMDA graduate Ruth Wilson. As an actor, Alex has performed at both the Royal Court and National Theatre alongside many other venues, in a variety of roles on both stage and screen.

Tom Williams
LAMDA 2017 Film: Payback, Writer
Tom Williams has been a full-time screenwriter since 1999. Tom’s writing credits include the screenplay for Kajaki: The True Story, the BIFA and Scottish BAFTA-winning war thriller that was released across the UK in 2014, screened in Official Selection at the Toronto International Film Festival and released as Kilo Two Bravo in the US and Canada in 2015.
