LAMDA Responds To Ofqual Notification

LAMDA Responds To Ofqual Notification

On 16 November 2017 Ofqual notified LAMDA of its intention to impose a monetary penalty for its failure to comply with a number of regulatory conditions between 2014 and 2016 in relation to its performance and communications examinations in the UK.

LAMDA has acknowledged that the administration of its Examinations operations during this time did not meet Ofqual’s or its own high standards and has therefore accepted the penalty of £30,000. Ofqual has recognised that following a root and branch review and significant investment, LAMDA is now fully compliant with its regulatory obligations.

We take our responsibility to our Examinations Learners very seriously and deeply regret the administrative, operational and communication failures during this time. These did not affect the rigour with which our Learners were examined, or the integrity and content of the examinations themselves.

Ofqual has recognised LAMDA’s transparent and proactive cooperation in resolving these issues and the extensive steps we have taken to return to full compliance in 2016-17. We have thoroughly reviewed all our Examinations operational processes and invested very significantly in additional staffing and resources in order to provide high service levels to all of our Examinations Learners.

We are grateful to Ofqual for their support during this period and for Ofqual’s recognition of the “success of LAMDA’s programme of review and reform”. We are immensely proud of the achievements of the record number of Learners who took a LAMDA examination or assessment this year.
