May Alumni News

From World Premieres to Shakespeare to hit TV shows, here’s where you can catch LAMDA alumni in May…

LAMDA alumni are set to tread the boards this month on some of London’s most famous stages. Lara Rossi will star in Anna at the National Theatre from 11 May, Arty Froushan will appear in the Royal Court’s White Pearl from 10 May and Aaron Pierre takes on the title role in King Headley II at Theatre Royal Stratford East from 17 May. As we head into the summer months, Natalie Klamar will star in Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre’s opening play of their 2019 season, Our Town. The World Premiere of new musical The Curious Case of Benjamin Button will run at Southwark Playhouse from 15 May starring James Marlowe.

Outside of London, Esh Alladi will star in Hobson’s Choice from 31 May at the Royal Exchange Theatre. You can also catch Amelia Donkor in the RSC’s productions of As You Like It and The Taming of the Shrew, currently playing at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon ahead of a UK tour.

The highly anticipated screen adaptation of Good Omens by LAMDA Examinations alumnus Neil Gaiman will be available on Amazon Prime from the end of the month, featuring Benedict Cumberbatch and Anna Maxwell Martin. Make sure you also keep your eyes peeled for Anna in the final two episodes of Line of Duty on BBC One. Harriet Walter, Olly Rix, Angus Imrie and 2018 graduate Nadia Parkes will all star in The Spanish Princess, released on 5 May.

Finally, good luck to Benedict Cumberbatch, Ruth Wilson plus all our alumni who are part of nominated shows at this month’s BAFTA awards, taking place on 12 May.
