Shakespeare in Schools

Shakespeare in Schools

Each year our graduating MFA Professional Acting students tour local secondary schools and colleges with fast-pace adaptations of Shakespeare’s most popular works. Audiences experience the excitement of watching the classics performed in close quarters, by a company of passionate young people using dynamic performance techniques. Shakespeare in Schools is generously supported in honour of David and Barbara Allison.

After each performance we invite the audience to engage in a post-show chat with the cast where they can discuss the rehearsal process and what it’s like to train at LAMDA.

"The production was definitely worthwhile. Many of the pupils will not have experienced a Shakespeare play before, therefore it was great for them to see it live. I would definitely ask LAMDA to come back to our school to perform again."
Head of English, Sion Manning

"Very worthwhile for them to see a live performance of a play in such an intimate, exclusive setting. Also valuable to see people not too far away from their own age performing. The boys really enjoyed the elements of humour in the performance, especially the moments of audience interaction."
