LAMDA’s Actor Refresh classes are designed specifically for Drama School graduates, with the aim of allowing you to flex your muscles and connect with your community.

Course Date
Each Actor Refresh runs in a four-week ‘block’. You may sign up for one block or multiple blocks.

Each four-week block is made up of 4, three-hour evening sessions (one a week for 4 weeks).

Upcoming Classes

Each four-week 'block’ focuses on a revisiting one of the core practices you explored at Drama School, allowing you to shake off the cobwebs and sharpen your skills.  

The course will also have you working alongside your peers, providing you with a much-needed opportunity to connect over your shared passion.

Block 1: Uta Hagen Scene Study Revisit Uta Hagen, using the techniques to work through a scene study. You will be encouraged to observe your peers, allowing their learning to inform yours. 6pm - 9pm, Tuesday evenings on 9 January, 16 January, 23 January, 30 January 2024 Application Deadline: Friday 22 December 2023 at 12pm (UK time)
Block 2: Voice and Movement Reconnect with your vocal and physical practice. Our LAMDA Voice and Movement Tutors will begin by easing you back into practice, exploring relaxation and reconnection. You will then begin to interrogate your warmup processes, establishing if your warm-up still serves you. Finally, you will explore updated techniques for vocal and physical maintenance, as well beginning to work with text. 6pm - 9pm, Tuesday evenings on 6 February, 13 February, 20 February, 27 February 2024 Application Deadline: Friday 19 January 2024 at 3pm (UK time)
Block 3: Meisner Revisit Meisner, using the technique to work through a scene study. You will be encouraged to observe your peers, allowing their learning to inform yours.  6pm - 9pm, Tuesday evenings on 5 March, 12 March, 19 March, 26 March 2024 Application Deadline: Friday 1 March 2024 at 10am (UK time)

Is this the course for me?

Whether you graduated last year or ten years ago, this course is suitable for any actor who has graduated from a Drama School or equivalent programme. Please see below for more details.

What will I learn?

You will revisit the practices you built at Drama School, allowing you to refresh and recalibrate your understanding. 

Key Information

You must be 21 or older to meet the requirements of this course. 

Applicants must have graduated from a Drama School Acting course of at least two terms (or an equivalent level of training at a recognised programme). If you are unsure if you meet this requirement, please contact our Short Course team on [email protected]

The course is delivered through the medium of English. Non-native speakers of English should have a level of English approximately equivalent to IELTS 6.0.
