LAMDA Exams in Schools

A Foundation for the Future

Schools across the world use LAMDA Exams to develop essential communication and oracy skills, build self-esteem and instil confidence amongst students.

The engaging and fun format of the qualifications can be used to support the teaching of subjects across the curriculum, such as English, Drama and PSHE, and provides the opportunity for students to participate in a rewarding arts environment.

Developing Skills For Life

LAMDA Exams give learners a meaningful way to grow as individuals, not just performers. Through drama, speech, and performance, learners develop the ability to listen, collaborate, think creatively, and communicate their ideas with clarity. The journey towards an exam builds focus, perseverance, and a sense of achievement that can influence how learners approach challenges across education and beyond.

Whether taking their first steps into performance or progressing through higher-level qualifications, learners experience the power of achievement, feedback, and personal growth.

With an inclusive approach that supports learners with SEND and diverse learning needs, LAMDA Exams create a space where every learner can participate, contribute, and succeed.

In the School Curriculum

By blending the syllabi into their curriculum, Broadway Academy in Birmingham has taken a whole-school approach to LAMDA Exams.

Emphasising the development of oracy and communication skills for every student, this approach continues to deliver excellent results for the school, with students receiving an overall Progress 8 score of +0.68 in 2025, and an outstanding English Progress score of 0.85+.

Through taking LAMDA Exams, Broadway Academy’s students practice public speaking, express themselves confidently, and build skills for everyday situations, helping them to flourish both in the classroom and beyond.

“We saw the tangible results of students getting more confident, their oracy improving, and so we embedded LAMDA Exams into the curriculum.”
