Enquire About Results
We are committed to ensuring that all learners are awarded their results and certificates accurately and in a timely manner.
An Enquiry About Results (shortened to ‘EAR’) can be submitted where there are concerns that the results awarded are not accurate, or where it is felt that there was an issue with the examination that impacted the result the learner achieved.
How to Enquire
An EAR can only be accepted from:
- Registered LAMDA learner(s)
- Parents or guardians of a registered LAMDA learner (under the age of 16)
- Public Centre correspondence contact
- Private Centre coordinators
To submit an EAR, please complete the Enquiry About Results application form and submit this to the LAMDA Exams Team within 15 working days of receiving your results.
Before submitting an EAR application, please read the Enquiry About Results policy to ensure that you have the required grounds. Your application must detail sufficient grounds and supporting evidence to meet the threshold for investigation under this policy.
Some example grounds for an EAR include (this list is not exhaustive):
Grounds: An authorised Reasonable Adjustment may not have been applied
- Supporting Evidence: Details of the Adjustments not applied and impacted Assessment Criteria
Grounds: Learner has been invalidated incorrectly
- Supporting Evidence: Evidence demonstrating the relevant regulations and/or requirements were met
Grounds: Breach of standardised examination procedure
- Supporting Evidence: Details of the procedures that have been breached and the assessment criteria impacted
Special Considerations
If the learner temporarily experienced an illness, injury or some other event outside of their control (e.g. a fire alarm) during their exam, this would not be considered grounds for an EAR.
These events would be defined as a Special Consideration and must be reported to LAMDA within 10 working days of the exam taking place.
What Happens Next
LAMDA will review the application received for the grounds and supporting evidence required to warrant investigation under this policy. We will confirm if your application has been accepted or not within 3 working days.
If your application is accepted, LAMDA will open an investigation and provide a written outcome within 15 working days.
Should LAMDA require more time than 15 working days to fully investigate your case, the investigator will notify you in writing as soon as possible.
Written Assessments (PCertLAM Unit 1 only)
For PCertLAM Unit 1: Performance Theory workbooks, LAMDA can re-mark the workbook submission. This service carries a £50 charge.
Once re-marking is completed, the outcome of this process is final. Please note that results can go down, as well as up, as a consequence of any re-mark.
LAMDA does not offer a re-mark service for practical exams.
Appeals
If you are unhappy with the outcome of an EAR investigation, you are welcome to submit an appeal.
