Appeals
We always strive to work with you to resolve any issues that come up during the exam process, whether that is setting up Reasonable Adjustments to support learners on exam day, to facilitating enquiries about results.
If, however, you are unhappy about the outcome of any of the decisions, and you have exhausted the procedures related to the specific policy, you may make an appeal.
An appeal will always be completed by a person with no previous involvement in the matter, and with no personal interest in the outcome.
Before Appealing
Before making an appeal, please read the Appeals Policy and ensure you have grounds for requesting one. If you are unsure if you should be making an appeal, please contact the Customer Service Team for support.
Other options before appealing include:
- Applying for a Reasonable Adjustment (must be done before an exam)
- Applying for Special Considerations (must be done after the exam, within 10 days of it taking place)
- Submitting an Enquiry About Results
- Submitting a Complaint
How to Appeal
Stage One:
If you need to submit an appeal, you will first need to complete Section 1 of the Appeals Form, and submit it to the LAMDA Exams Team.
Stage Two:
If you remain dissatisfied with the Stage One outcome, you are welcome to submit a Stage Two Appeal by completing Section 2 of your original Appeals Form. Submit it to the LAMDA Exams Team.
A Stage Two appeal carries a £100 charge that must be received by LAMDA prior to the investigation commencing.
If your Stage Two appeal is taken forward for investigation, a member of staff will be in contact to facilitate payment. This fee will be refunded if your appeal is upheld.
Next Steps:
We will acknowledge receipt of your appeal (Stage One or Two) within three working days, and a Lead Investigator or Independent Reviewer will be assigned.
The investigator/reviewer will respond with the outcomes within 15 working days. Where investigations are more complex and cannot be resolved within 15 working days, the investigator will provide an update every 15 working days until an outcome can be reached.
