1. The Starting Point
Get your first glimpse into the world of LAMDA Exams by joining one of our free webinars, available throughout the year.
This 90-minute session covers the history and format of our assessments, the subjects available, and the benefits for learners, ending with an in-depth Q&A session to support your first steps.
2. Find the Right Exam
Our qualifications are designed to foster a learner’s creativity, build their confidence, and grow their communication skills, providing them with a springboard for life. But each learner has their own talents, interests and goals – so finding the right exam is important. From Acting to Speaking in Public, Musical Theatre to Mime – there are over 15 qualifications to choose from.

3. Start with the Syllabus
Our syllabi are the place to start. They contain all the information needed for teaching, explain the structure of our qualification and marking criteria, and outline additional resources.
Each syllabus can be downloaded for free or purchased in paperback from our online shop, with on-demand webinars, supplementary publications and anthologies also available.

4. Get a Confidence Boost
Strengthen your understanding and build confidence teaching the syllabi with our courses and workshops. With a range of topics and formats available, these focused and practical training sessions are led by expert practitioners and are designed to support your teaching.

5. Promote Your Teaching
It’s time to spread the word that you teach LAMDA Exams. Make use of our suite of promotional materials – from listing your business on the Directory of Teachers to accessing our Teaching LAMDA Exams graphic pack for your own marketing. You can also request printed leaflets and posters for advertising in your local community.
6. Choose Your Exam Format
Our exams are designed to work for you. Before you book an exam, you’ll need to figure out what format of exam you need – and whether becoming a private centre is right for you.
Depending on where you are in the world and the exam your learners are taking, there are different options to choose from:
Public centres are found across the UK in over 30 locations and are open to learners from different teachers, schools or organisations. They are often used by teachers who don’t have a suitable venue for private centre exams or are entering a smaller number of learners for their exams.
Internationally, public centre exams are available through online assessments (referred to as INTROAs).
If your venue meets certain requirements, you can register your school or business as a private centre for free.
This is the ideal solution if you have a larger number of learners that need assessments. Private centre exams offer greater flexibility for choosing exam dates and are available in the UK or internationally.
Designed to mirror the in-person examination experience, online assessments offer the exact same value and integrity, with more flexibility for learners. Referred to as remote online assessments (ROAs), they are available in the UK or internationally via public or private centres.
7. Book an Exam
You’ve worked through the syllabus. Your learner knows their piece back to front. It’s time to enter your learner for their exam. Once you figure out what format works best (see point 6), you can book an exam using ExamTrack, our exam booking portal.

8. Exam Day and Beyond
When Exam Day arrives, you’ll want to make sure your learner is fully prepared and feels confident to step in front of the examiner.
Use our Exam Day Guide to know what to expect on the day, including a checklist of what to bring, and find out when you’ll receive the results.
To officially gain a LAMDA qualification, a learner needs to take and pass the relevant LAMDA exam. They will then receive a certificate to mark their achievement. Alongside their result, all learners receive a Learner Examination Report (LER) with feedback on what they’ve done well and what to work on for next time.
