Dame Shirley Pearce

Shirley has held senior executive and non-executive roles in higher education, health, policing and the private sector. These include being Vice Chancellor of Loughborough University, Chair of the London School of Economics and Political Science, LSE and Chair of the College of Policing. She was appointed by the Secretary of State for Education as the independent reviewer of the higher education Teaching Excellence Framework TEF. She is currently a non executive director of the Unite Group, a member of the Higher Education Quality Assurance Panel for the Ministry of Education in Singapore and a Trustee of the Royal Anniversary Trust.

She was appointed CBE in 2005 for services to education in the NHS and, in 2014, appointed DBE for services to higher education.
