Shakespeare Masterclasses
Discover our Shakespeare Masterclass series
Each October at LAMDA we begin our US Shakespeare Masterclass series, hosted by Rodney Cottier, LAMDA’s former Head of Drama School. We offer in person and online lectures designed to inspire university and college students in the US.
His respect and passion for the text is truly contagious.
About the masterclasses
The masterclass series gives a taste of LAMDA training to students. With 35 years experience as a stage director, teacher of stage combat, acting and text Rodney Cottier leads an exciting and educational class.
Delivered in 2.5 - 3-hour masterclasses, Rodney explores Shakespeare’s First Folio through an accessible, entertaining and engaging environment.
How to book a masterclass
We tailor the lectures to the needs of the schools, colleges and universities we work with. Enquire below to arrange a masterclass.
In each city we also endeavour to arrange a community lecture, which is open to professional actors and theatre companies.
Watch this space for community lectures, which are open to the public.
The students were discovering things about Shakespeare through these lectures and themselves they never thought of before.
Our Audition tour coincides with our Masterclass series in Spring 2022. We are visiting a number of cities across the North America. Find out more about auditioning in the US for our Undergraduate & Postgraduate acting courses here.
