International Private Centres

How To Book

Whether you’re making an enquiry or ready to book, our experienced support team are on hand every step of the way. All exam bookings for international private centres can be requested by contacting the International Team through our Help Centre.

In situations where the requirements for a private centre exam cannot be met (for example, if there are too few learners in the exam session), we recommend booking an international public centre exam, where online assessments run throughout the year.

Online Assessments

In a remote online assessment (also known as an ROA), an examiner based in the UK will assess learners online, allowing the exam to be taken anywhere in the world.

Online assessments for international private centres must be requested at least 7 weeks in advance of the intended exam date.

Follow this typical guide for when to begin booking an online private centre exam:

7+ weeks before the exam date:
Submit a booking request for a remote online assessment (ROA) by contacting the International Team. We will then set up the booking on ExamTrack for you to complete.

6 – 5 weeks before the exam date:
Enter your learners onto ExamTrack and make payment. During this period timetable changes for your learners can continue to be made free of charge, within reason. This does not include learner withdrawal.

5 – 3 weeks before the exam date:
Reasonable timetable requests can continue to be made, but additional charges are applicable.

2 weeks before the exam date:
The final schedule of your learners’ exam day will be sent out, along with Zoom links to access the exam room. Own choice pieces must be submitted. No changes can be made to the timetable from this time onwards.

As long as the minimum fee requirement for a session is met, there is no minimum length for a Private ROA session.

A half-day session is 3 hours 25mins (with a 30-minute break every 2 hours) and a full day session can be a maximum of 6 hours long (with a 30-minute break every 2 hours).

ROA sessions cannot exceed 6 hours of examining. If you cannot make the necessary requirement for another half day, you may enter your learners into the next international public centre dates (called INTROAs).

You can book as many sessions as you think you will need. However, if you overbook and cannot fill them, there will be cancellation costs attached to each session you cancel.

All our remote online assessments (ROAs) are examined by UK-based examiners. Consequently, all exams must take place between the times of 8am – 7pm (GMT/BST).

International Private Centre ROAs are online exams that are organised for a registered centre by the centre coordinator.

International Public Centre ROAs (also known as INTROAs) are open to all learners, regardless of their teacher or school. They are most suitable to individual learners and teachers who do not have enough learners to justify their own private event. INTROAs take place on set dates throughout the year. Read more about INTROAs and view the upcoming exam dates.

In-Person Exams

Occasionally, we can organise in-person tours in international regions, meaning an examiner will travel to different countries to hold face-to-face exams at an international private centre.

These tours take place on set periods throughout the year and are subject to availability. In-person tours for international private centres must be requested at least 3-4 months in advance of the intended exam date.

Even if you don’t think you have enough learners to justify an in-person tour, please still contact us. In some cases, we can group several different venues together into an examiner’s tour, allowing our examiners to meet more learners and teachers across the world.

Become a Private Centre

To book exams as a private centre, venues must meet our requirements, including a large enough cohort of learners to meet minimum costs, suitable room conditions and acceptable policies in place.
