From the latest TV drama, digital theatre, to sharing their own work or performing in livestreams, here are just a few highlights of where you can catch our alumni this month.   

What’s new this month 

  • Jane Bradley’s new short film Make Yourself At Home will be released on Vimeo on 3 August. 

  • MA Directing alum Woolim Kim has been selected by South Korea’s Korean Directors Association to direct Constellations as part of Korea's New Directors' Festival. Performances begin 6 August at Sung Soo Art Hall in Seoul.  

  • Rosaline Elbay stars in season 2 of Ramy, released on 6 August on Amazon Prime Video. 

  • Waiting for the Barbarians will be released 7 August with Sam ReidHarry Melling and David Moorst

  • ​​​​​Mischief Theatre have been announced as part of the line-up for Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. They will perform their show Mischief Movie Night on 31 August.  

  • Mary Alexandra Stiefvater has had three new photography books published: Wild and DomesticLux and Skyscape

  • Joseph Quinn stars in Make Up, now streaming on Curzon Home Cinema.  

  • Adam Blampied is part of the Wrestletalk Podcast. Click here to listen to their podcasts. 

  • James Musgrave stars in new series A Suitable Boy broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.  

  • Actor, writer and director Nessa Matthews was recently a guest on Theatremaker’s Stage Door Live, a weekly webcast about Irish theatre. Watch it here

  • Meera Simhan stars in season six of The Flash available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.  

  • Final year student Ciara Wright stars in series 2 of digital theatre series Bard from the Barn. Watch it here

  • Psych 2: Lassie Come Home stars Nils Hognestad and is now available to watch on US streaming service Peacock. 

  • The 2016 RSC production of Hamlet starring Natalie Simpson is available on BBC iPlayer as part of Culture in Quarantine as well as The Merchant of Venice directed by Polly Findlay and starring James Corrigan and Nadia Albina

  • The 2018 RSC production of Macbeth is also on BBC iPlayer. Directed by Polly Findlay and with lighting design by Lizzie Powell, it starred Michael Hodgson and Tim Samuels

  • Congratulations to Sam Swann has been elected to Equity UK’s council. 

  • It's just been announced that a gender-swapped version of Tell Me on Sunday is in the works, with Rebecca Frecknall directing a workshop version earlier this year.  

  • Nathaniel Parker has been cast in upcoming TV series The Beast Must Die

  • Congratulations to Aisling Bea who won the breakthrough talent award for her comedy-drama This Way Up at the British Academy Television Craft Awards.  

  • Perry Mason has been renewed for a second season on HBO, starring John Lithgow.  

  • Later this year new TV series Roadkill will air on BBC with Patricia Hodge

  • Foundation alum Anya Chalotra will star in Marvel’s upcoming animated series: New-Gen.  

  • Congratulations to our alumni who have been nominated for the 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards. Chiwetel Ejiofor has been nominated as Outstanding Narrator for The Elephant Queen. For their roles in SuccessionBrian Cox has been nominated as Outstanding Lead in a Drama Series and Dame Harriet Walter as Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.
