The Folio Scholars
LAMDA is proud to introduce The Folio Scholarship.
2025 saw our pilot scholarship programme supporting two students on our Spring Semester Course. The inaugural recipients of this scholarship were Niko Valcin and Nicky Chier from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
These brilliant acting students were recognised for their exceptional talent, ability and hard work by our Associate Director Rodney Cottier, following their participation in a Masterclass in 2024. Their selection was further supported by a recommendation from their professor at University of Wisconsin Madison and first recipient of LAMDA's Colin Cook Fellowship; Baron Kelly.
This marks a historic step for LAMDA, as we have never before offered scholarships to semester students from the USA. While Fulbright Scholars regularly attend LAMDA on our full-time training courses, this is an independent initiative aimed at providing opportunities for US students who otherwise would not have the means to study with us in this way.
By waiving the semester fees and securing places for them in the cohort, The Folio Scholars programme not only nurtures emerging talent but also advances our Access, Widening, and Participation goals.
Kimberley Wintle, Industry Associate & US Relationship Manager at LAMDA said:
“I’m thrilled that LAMDA is supporting this opportunity for international students to study with us in London and hope that it encourages a new wave of young actors to apply who would have previously not thought to do so. I look forward to the new faces it brings to our halls.”
