Latest releases

  • In the Dark, the immersive, three-dimensional music experience which starred Madeleine Bloxam, played in various venues across London in November. 
  • The Wizard of Oz panto, featuring Stage Management by Lyndsey Barratt, plays from 22 November – 20 December in New York. 
  • An Ideal Husband, which played at the Golden Goose Theatre on 23 and 24 November starred Michael Tcherepashenets and John Rice
  • The Last Self Tape at The Cockpit from 27 – 28 November was written by and starred Ailun Zhou
  • Anna Maxwell Martin stars in short film Santaland as part of an Action for Children campaign that highlights children living in poverty at Christmas.  
  • Mischief Theatre are releasing eight episodes of their improvised stage show Mischief Movie Night throughout December. They can be viewed on the Mischief website. 
  • The podcast series Charles Dickens Ghost Stories, narrated by Sir David Suchet, was released on 1 December. 
  • Doctor Who spin-off series, The War Between the Land and the Sea, airs on BBC One and iPlayer from 7 December, and sees Jemma Redgrave reprise her role as Kate Lethbridge–Stewart. 
  • Talia Pick stars in Cinderella and the Matzo Ball at JW3 from 7 December – 4 January. 
  • Harriet Walter & Friends – She Speaks! at the Lyric Theatre on 10 December stars Dame Harriet Walter, Leah Harvey and Amber Grappy. The show is based on Dame Harriet Walter’s 2024 book by the same name. 
  • Fackham Hall, starring Anna Maxwell Martin, will be released in UK cinemas on 12 December. 
  • Claudine Toutoungi’s new audio dramatisation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility, featuring Rose Basista, will be released on the 20 and 21 December. 
  • Nancy Carroll stars in The Room in the Tower, which will air on BBC Two and iPlayer on 24 December. 
  • Luke Treadway stars in Othello at the Theatre Royal Haymarket until 17 January. 
  • Patricia Hodge will star in the 250th anniversary production of The Rivals at the Orange Tree Theatre until 24 January. 
  • The UK tour of Mischief Theatre’s Christmas Carol Goes Wrong stars Matt Cavendish, Chris Leask, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, Greg Tannahill, Nancy Zamit, Will Bishop and Colm Gleeson. The show was created by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields, and plays until 1 March.

Things to look forward to    

  • Dame Harriet Walter will be part of a performance concert celebrating the life and legacy of pianist Alfred Brendel. The event takes place on 5 January at Barbican Hall. 
  • Hilson Agbangbe and Lucy Karczewski have been announced as the hosts of The Stage Awards, which takes place on 12 January. 
  • Elizabeth Colwell stars in the UK premiere of Imposed at The Hope Theatre, directed by Hannah Eidinow. The show plays from 14 – 16 January. 
  • Arty Froushan stars in the upcoming film H Is for Hawk, which will be released in UK cinemas on 23 January. 
  • The Lady, starring Claire Skinner, will be released on ITV in early 2026. 
  • The Broadway transfer of Giant, which stars John Lithgow, begins performances in March. 
  • Aaron Pierre joins the cast of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest at The Old Vic from 1 April – 23 May. 
  • Chiwetel Ejiofor is Executive Producer for the stage adaption of The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind. The show plays at Soho Place from 25 April – 18 July and stars Alistair Nwachukwu
  • 1536 will transfer to The Ambassadors Theatre from May 2026. The show features Tingying Dong as Sound Designer/Composer. 
  • David Suchet will star in a site-specific adaption of Murder in the Cathedral at Orange Tree Theatre from 12 October – 7 November. 
  • Ruth Wilson will reprise her character for the next Luther film, which will be released on Netflix.  
  • David Oyelowo is set to star in a new film adaption of Othello.  
  • Clare Higgins has joined the cast of the upcoming ITV series Gone.

  • Harry Melling won Best Actor at the 2025 Stockholm International Film Festival Awards for his role in Pillion.  
  • Pillion also won Best British Independent Film at the 2025 British Independent Film Awards. Harry Melling was nominated for Best Lead Performance.  
  • Anna Maxwell Martin won Best Performance by an Actress for the series Until I Kill You at the 2025 International Emmy Awards. The show Ludwig, which also stars Anna, won Best Comedy.  
  • Rivals, which stars Katherine Parkinson, won Best Drama Series at the 2025 International Emmy Awards. 
  • At the 2025 Women in Film and TV Awards, Anna Maxwell Martin won the Best Performance Award for her role in the series Until I Kill You
