Latest releases
- Sam Swann starred in Hamlet at Chichester Festival Theatre from 6 September – 4 October.
- Capucine Earle brought her play Petit Leópard to the Drayton Arms on 30 September and 1 October. It was co-directed by Katherine Lyle and Andrew Friedman.
- Gracel Delos Santos and William Harvey starred in Love Me Tomorrow at the Bread & Roses Theatre from 1 – 2 October.
- The Soon Life, which plays at Southwark Playhouse from 1 – 18 October, stars Joe Boylan.
- Da Vinci’s Laundry at Riverside Studios from 6 – 25 October stars Arsema Thomas.
- Becoming Meg Dashwood, an Audible Original sequel to Sense and Sensibility featuring Paterson Joseph, was released on 6 October.
- The Channel 5 drama Murder Before Evensong starring Amit Shah begins on 7 October.
- Katherine Parkinson and Rory Kinnear will read excerpts from Booker Prize-nominated novels as part of a series of short films showcasing this year’s shortlist. The films will be released on 8 October on the Booker Prize website.
- Don’t Look Now at the New Wolsey Theatre from 9 – 25 October stars Alexander Makar. The show also plays at the Salisbury Theatre from the 27 – 15 November.
- Samya de Meo, Yaw Osafo-Kantanka, and Roland Royal III star in Tangle Theatre Company’s 2025 UK tour of Julius Caesar from 9 October – 15 November.
- Charlie Russell stars in Fanny at the King’s Head Theatre from 10 October – 15 November.
- Esh Alladi stars in The Unbelievers at the Royal Court Theatre which plays from 10 October – 29 November.
- Rosalind Eleazar stars in the world premiere of Small Hotel at the Theatre Royal Bath, which plays until 18 October.
- Toby Stephens, Kyle Ndukuba and Ami Tredrea star in Wendy & Peter Pan at the Barbican Theatre from 21 October – 22 November.
- Pauline Marechal has written and directed her show Wanda's Celebration, which will be performed at the Lambeth Fringe at the Bread and Roses Theatre on the 22 and 25 October. The show also includes Carly Hendricks, and Philippine Fauchier Magnan as Assistant Director.
- Riot Women, which will premiere on BBC iPlayer and BBC One on 22 October, stars Claire Skinner and Amit Shah.
- Lazarus, starring Sam Claflin, will be released on Prime Video on 22 October.
- Luke Treadway stars in Othello at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 23 October – 17 January 2026.
- Douggie McMeekin and Miya James star in Measure for Measure until 25 October at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-Upon-Avon.
- The series Down Cemetry Lane stars Ruth Wilson and will be released on Apple TV+ on 29 October.
- Hedda, starring Tom Bateman, will be released on Amazon Prime Video on 29 October.
- Sam Jenkins-Shaw stars in Bacchae at the National Theatre which plays until 1 November.
- The UK premiere of Mary Page Marlowe runs at the Old Vic until 1 November and stars Gilbert Kyem Jnr.
- The Lady from the Sea at The Bridge Theatre until 8 November stars Sadhbha Odufuwa-Bolger.
- Matt Doyle stars in The Great Gatsby in the GS Arts Center in the Gangnam District of Seoul, South Korea until 9 November.
- Hamlet at the National Theatre stars Alistair Petrie and Hari McKinnon, with Sound Design by Alexandra Faye Braithwaite. The show runs until 22 November.
- Lucy Karczewski and Lucy Gray star in Stereophonic at the Duke of York Theatre until 22 November. The show features Heather Knott as Sound No 1.
Things to look forward to
- The documentary The Marbles, featuring Brian Cox, will be released in the UK on 7 November.
- The Choral, which stars Jim Broadbent, will be released in cinemas on 7 November.
- Pillion, which stars Harry Melling, will be released in UK cinemas on 28 November.
- Patricia Hodge will star in the 250th anniversary production of The Rivals at the Orange Tree Theatre from 29 November – 24 January 2026.
- Nancy Carroll stars in The Room in the Tower, which will air on BBC Two and iPlayer this December.
- Julie Hesmondhalgh joins the cast of upcoming BBC drama Crookhaven, which will be released in early 2026.
- The Broadway transfer of Giant, which stars John Lithgow, begins performances in March 2026.
- Ryan Saviano is set to star in Season 13 of Chicago P.D. in Episode 6, "Send Me”.
- The BBC series Vigil, which stars Rose Leslie, will return for a third season.
- Dame Harriet Walter joins the cast of Channel 4’s upcoming series Maya.

- Anna Maxwell Martin won Best Actress at the BAFTA Cymru 2025 Awards for her role in the true crime drama Until I Kill You.
- Philip Pullman’s Northern Lights, narrated by Ruth Wilson, has been shortlisted for Best Fiction at the British Audio Awards (also known as ‘The Speakies’).
