About the films
There are six short films in the film showcase, all between 8 and 15 minutes long and featuring our graduating BA (Hons) Professional Acting students.
The films have been written especially for their casts and are directed by professional guest directors working with a crew of freelance professionals.

Killers
Written by Joe White and directed by A J Quinn. Three abattoir workers prepare for a difficult morning when a stranger chains himself to their gates.

Maybe One Day
Written by Daniel Kanaber and directed by A J Quinn. Six people wake to a new day in America. Awaiting an election result that might just mean everything could actually be changing. Or maybe not.

Needles and Pins
Written by Jonathan Reid-Edwards and directed by Kate Tuck. A hot young band re-convene after a break from touring. As old wounds are picked over and fresh hurts come to light, they must decide for themselves what their futures hold.

The Strange Disappearance of Aila Hydrii
Written and directed by Michelle Bonnard. When Aila Hydrii's father dies, she hides herself away from the world. But Aila finds a new group of friends online - from the safety of her own bedroom. When Aila goes missing, her online community worry for her well-being. Can they find Aila in the real world? And is she okay?

The State
Written by Danusia Samal and directed by Amy Hodge. In a violent dangerous world, a new state is formed. A safe place promising women the chance to thrive. But who gets to decide who is deserving? Does power always corrupt?

Invisible
Written and directed by Gilbert Kyem Jr. If someone said to you, ‘tomorrow you will have a seizure out of nowhere…it could be life threatening,' how would you spend that day? Robyn is about to start an exciting new job. Kyle, her partner, wants to support her but cannot ignore the potential threat over their heads. Permission to live is dangerous but at what point is it fatal?
