Sub-Committees of the LAMDA Board
Audit & Risk Committee
This Committee reviews and advises the Board of Trustees on the adequacy and effectiveness of LAMDA’s financial control systems and accounting procedures, ensuring that appropriate levels of external and internal audit are maintained. It scrutinises risk, not confining itself to financial systems and details but examining matters critically and to be alert for potential areas of concern (including health and safety, fraud and malpractice). The Committee ensures that LAMDA’s arrangements promote efficiency, economy and effectiveness to secure value for money in all areas.
Development Committee
This Committee works to promote fundraising, scholarships and bursaries, allowing LAMDA to be talent-focused when selecting students. It also assists with any capital campaign.
Examinations Committee
This Committee ensures that exams are managed and delivered in accordance with the regulatory requirements of Ofqual and or any other applicable regulatory body and that the performance of the Exams business is aligned with the business plan and strategy of LAMDA, working to increase the number of learners and the worldwide geographical reach.
Finance Committee
This Committee considers any significant financial matter to ensure that the Board of Trustees can be confident that LAMDA’s financial affairs are managed prudently, effectively and efficiently in the best interests of LAMDA and in compliance with all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements. It monitors financial performance against approved budgets and reviews the management of significant financial risks.
Nominations & Remuneration Committee
This Committee considers and monitors the make-up of the Board to ensure that Trustees possess the relevant skills to evaluate the ongoing performance of LAMDA and that any vacancies on the Board are filled with a suitable person. It also considers and approves the remuneration of senior post holders, including the Principal.
People & Culture Committee
This Committee oversees and advises on LAMDA’s People & Remuneration Strategy and all strategic people-related matters including employment policies, pay, staff development, equity diversity and inclusion, employee relations and wellbeing of staff and students. It also ensures alignment of LAMDA’s culture with its overarching strategy and legal obligations.
