About the pieces
From Mud and Water
We are made from mud and water, of that we are fairly certain. But what makes us human? Around a campfire, five friends share stories of their cultural background, trying to answer this primordial question - thus creating a new hybrid mythology.
I Hate This Part
We see you as sort of a......
Strong, English rose, exotic love interest bond girl, mum, crunchy, frazzled british woman, doctor, maternal lawyer, slimy slick sluggish, rich auntie, gritty, girlboss, top boy, girl next door, single slutty friend.
Shukir Baari (Shuki’s Home) & Maya Kulper
This contains two solo, unconnected pieces. In Shukir Baari (Shuki’s House), Shuki finds herself and her family on the wrong side of the border after the declaration of the Partition of India by the British Raj, shortly after India gained independence. Safety now, she’s been told, means she has to leave everything behind and crawl through glass to get to the other side of the border. This piece follows her as she walks down different memory lanes and questions what "home" is. She mourns the ephemeral nature of her "home", as it is rendered now.
In Maya Kulper, Maya is a young, ambitious woman, eager to get ahead, and make the world a better place. She is bright eyed and keen. She is sophisticated and sleek. She is smart and ready to prove that she is the girl for the job. But is she ready to go too far to please the powers that be?
The Climate Cabaret
It’s 2063. The world has fallen victim to microplastics, the climate is dying and fertility rates have dropped, drastically. A group of individuals have been left to repopulate. How does one cope with the weight of a population on their shoulders?
