Dead Dog in a Suitcase (And Other Love Songs) A New Beggar’s Opera

Kerry is the Artistic Director of Splendid Productions. She is an actor, director, writer and theatre maker.

Previous work includes: co-writing, co-directing and performing in the Olivier award nominated Rough Magic and Midsummer Mechanicals for Shakespeare’s Globe.

Other theatre credits include: Pinocchio (Shakespeare’s Globe); I Love You, But… (Camden Peoples Theatre, The Vaults Festival); UBU (Splendid Tour); Wonders Wonders Wonders (Junction Theatre); Red Riding Hood versus The Wolf, The Epic Adventures of Robin Hood (Stantonbury Theatre); The Odyssey, Woyzeck (UK & SE Asia Splendid Tour); Antigone, Medea, The Trial, Dr Faustus, The Good Woman of Szechuan, Animal Farm (Splendid UK Tour); The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui (UK Tour / National Theatre’s ‘Watch This Space’ Festival); Carnival Messiah (Leeds Playhouse / Queens Hall, Trinidad); A Midsummer Night’s Dream (ADC Theatre).

Directing credits include: Little Red Robin Hood, Sleeping Beauty & The Beast, Goldilocks & the Three Musketeers (BAC); Puss in Moon Boots; and the OFFIE winning The Legend of Moby Dick Whittington.

Kerry also works as a visiting director and lecturer at LAMDA, LIPA, and Trinity Laban.

Carl Grose’s plays include: Grand Guignol, Superstition Mountain, Gargantua, Horse Piss For Blood, The Kneebone Cadillac and 49 Donkeys Hanged. For twenty-six years he worked with the internationally acclaimed Cornish theatre company, Kneehigh, as writer, actor and co-artistic director.

Writing for Kneehigh includes: Tristan & Yseult (with Anna Maria Murphy), Hansel & Gretel, The Wild Bride, The Tin Drum and Dead Dog In A Suitcase (and other love songs) – a new Beggar’s Opera.

Other writing includes: The Dark Philosophers and Never Try This At Home (Told By An Idiot); Oedipussy (Spymonkey); Wormy Close (Soho Theatre); The 13 Midnight Challenges of Angelus Diablo (RSC) and The Hartlepool Monkey (Gyre and Gimble). He also wrote the book and co-lyrics for Bristol Old Vic’s West End musical The Grinning Man, and Princess & Peppernose, a short film directed by Joe Wright.
