About the show

What happens when you take Sondheim’s most beloved music and turn it on its head?

Ingénues become villains, villains deliver delicate ballads, and comic sidekicks step into tragedy. Miscast Sondheim is a joyous celebration of the classics as you’ve never seen them before, reimagining iconic numbers such as Broadway Baby, Being Alive and Ladies Who Lunch. LAMDA’s musical theatre ensemble will defy your expectations with wit and flair, in this rare chance to see the next generation of talent in action before they break through. A cabaret-style Fringe treat for devoted fans and newcomers alike.

About the director, Gregory Haney

Gregory brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his role as the departmental lead for Dance discipline at LAMDA. As an accomplished actor, choreographer, and movement director, Gregory has an extensive background that spans Broadway, West End, film, television, and music videos, making him a versatile and dynamic force in the performing arts.

Gregory's Broadway credits include iconic shows such as Hamilton, Bring It On, Wicked, Memphis, and Tarzan. On the West End, he has showcased his talents in Hamilton and Tina. Gregory also starred as Noxeema Jackson in the world premiere of To Wong Foo the Musical, further highlighting his versatility and depth as a performer.

At LAMDA, Gregory works across all courses in Dance, ensuring that the curriculum aligns with current industry practices. His role is essential in maintaining the high standards of dance education at LAMDA, preparing students to excel in the ever-evolving world of performing arts.
