In Memoriam: Jenny Lipman
The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art was saddened this week to learn of the passing of actor, director and much-loved teacher, Jenny Lipman. Many have taken to social media to express their feelings upon hearing the news, such is the influence of her work and the enduring power of her teaching.
Jenny began working at LAMDA in 1998, and taught cohort after cohort of students at LAMDA for 23 years, alongside a number of other drama conservatories.
She was a highly original practitioner. Her students, fellow members of staff, and legions of alumni can attest to that. Jenny’s website contains many testimonials from those she worked with and taught over a long career, and a shared theme comes through; a passion for acting, her unwavering support for students, and her generosity.
Today’s LAMDA family would like to offer our sincere condolences to Jenny’s family and friends. We thank her for her dedication to teaching generations of LAMDA students. Through this body of work Jenny’s legacy continues.
