MishMash Makes a Vibrant Return to LAMDA
The biennial festival celebrates bold, new work of LAMDA alumni
LAMDA’s MishMash Festival returns to celebrate bold new work from alumni.
This spring, LAMDA will once again host the MishMash Festival, an exciting three-day celebration of original performances, bringing together alumni, artists and audiences for a weekend of boundary-pushing creativity.
Taking place from 17 – 19 April 2026, the three-day festival celebrates self-created work by LAMDA graduates and their collaborators, offering a platform for artists to share bold new ideas and works in progress. Across the weekend, audiences can experience a dynamic programme of performances, workshops and panel discussions that champion storytelling and creative experimentation.
The festival programme features more than 30 live performances, ranging from short 10-minute pieces to longer works, staged across LAMDA’s theatre spaces.
Highlights from this year’s programme include performances such as CHEFESS by Zoë Watson, Six Quilters Inside His Majesty’s Prison Thornbridge by Georgina Duncan and The Lads by Tim Charles, alongside experimental new works including Dr. Jimmy Lyons: Existential Physics (or Why the Universe is Gay) by James Lyon and Gaslight Gatekeep Girlboss: A Retrospective with Morgan J Kelly by Seagull Productions.
Founded by LAMDA alumna Emily Carewe in 2019, MishMash gives graduates a platform to develop and present their own work within a supportive environment. The festival encourages artists to take risks, offering seed commissions, development support and rehearsal opportunities to help bring new ideas to life.
Speaking about the festival, Carewe said: "Viable platforms for early-career artists to experiment and take risks are more vital than ever. I'm thrilled that this year’s festival sees an increase in commissions offered – including the introduction of a new headlining 60-minute commission of a piece that has previously been developed as part of the festival. The ethos of MishMash is rooted in empowerment and creative entrepreneurialism, and the range of work featured this year really speaks to that. I can’t wait to see what everyone creates.”
By creating space for experimentation and collaboration, MishMash has become an important platform for alumni to showcase their creative voices and explore the next stage of their artistic journeys. From emerging playwrights and directors to performers and theatre-makers, the festival reflects the breadth of work being created by LAMDA graduates across the industry.
Tickets for MishMash 2026 are on sale now, with performances taking place across venues at LAMDA’s west London campus.
