About the show

It’s not easy putting on a play. It’s even harder when your dad is the lead character, he’s playing himself, and even though you’re the professional playwright and he’s the emergency surgeon, he keeps trying to rewrite your script. After Hurricane Katrina swept through her home town, Boo was determined to write a play about it. But she never imagined it would be this hard…

Philip J Morris is the Artistic Director at Trybe House Theatre. He studied Applied Theatre at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and completed the Young Vic Introduction to Directing Course and the Regional Theatre Young Directors’ Scheme (RTYDS).

His theatre credits include: End and Pericles for the National Theatre Public Acts,

Living Newspaper Edition 4: Life’s Work at the Royal Court; Eighteen with Company Three at New Diorama; Sessions for Paines Plough at Soho Theatre; and Scenes from a Brummie Iliad at Birmingham Rep.

Philip J Morris is the recipient of the 2025 Excellence in Arts Education Award at the UK Theatre Awards.

Boo Killebrew is a rising star of American theatre. She has received two New York Innovative Theater Awards, two Fringe Excellence Awards, and The Bette Davis Foundation Award. Her plays include Miller, Mississippi (The Leah Ryan Prize); Romance Novels for Dummies and Days Like Diamonds.

Contains themes of child and parental death by cancer, parental death, parental abandonment and drowning. 

This play is set during Hurricane Katrina and depicts environmental disaster, specifically flooding, caused by climate change.

Tickets cost £14, but we have £7 concessions tickets available to Hammersmith & Fulham residents, schools, students, or people who are over 65, under 18 or are on Job Seeker's Allowance. You'll just need to provide proof of your eligibility when you collect your tickets at the Box Office. We offer a complimentary ticket for carers, to book please call the box office on 020 8834 0500. If you belong to our Pathways Programme or work with any of our Pathways Partners you are entitled to complimentary tickets. Please contact the box office to book.

There is no need to collect tickets. You will be send an E-Ticket via email which you can present on arrival.

Refunds 

Unfortunately, all tickets are non-refundable.
