Alumni News: July Edition

Here are just a few highlights of where you can catch our alumni this month.

Latest releases

  • Hercules the Musical, which opened at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on 6 June, features Chris Hesketh as Stage Manager and Gareth Prentice as Head of Automation. 
  • Orpheus Descending, which played at Cockpit Theatre from 25 – 29 June starred Jacob Proctor, Carly Helms, Alex Holliday, Madeleine Bloxam, Madeleine Paulson, Benjamin Raymant, Brock Looser, Alexandra Montalbano, Josh Beckman, Grace Wallis, Daisy Tallulah Hargreaves, Jonathan Aarons, Yaw Osafo-Kantanka and Madison Coppola. The show also featured Elis Perrotta as Stage Manager and Anna Hampton as Assistant Director. 
  • Chiwetel Ejiofor stars in The Old Guard 2 which was released on 2 July.  
  • Toby Gordon directs the tour of The Taming of the Shrew for Shakespeare in the Squares which plays until 12 July. 
  • Lewis Bowes, Ryan Duval and John Light star in The Winter’s Tale from 12 July – 30 August at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Stratford-Upon-Avon. 
  • Joseph Aldous stars in Get Happy at the Omnibus Theatre until 12 July. 
  • Alissia Di Cosmo has written a piece of theatre being performed at the Wooden Arrows Writers Collective Showcase on 13 July – an event organised by Kieton Saunders-Browne. The piece is directed by Martha Barnett and stars Annie Taylor
  • Arsema Thomas is set to star in Poor Clare at Orange Tree Theatre from 16 July – 9 August. 
  • Alexandra Faye Braithwaite is the Sound Designer for Liberation, which will have its world premiere at the Manchester International Festival, playing until 26 July.  
  • Tinuke Craig directs Noughts and Crosses at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre which runs until 26 July. The show stars Yolanda Ovide and Elle Davies.  
  • George Rainsford stars in the UK Tour of Picture You Dead, which plays until 26 July.  
  • John Lithgow stars in Giant at the Royal Court until 2 August, with Sound Design by Alexandra Faye Braithwaite.  
  • Stephan Boyce stars in the world premiere of The Boy With Wings. The show will run in Polka’s main theatre until 16 August, before transferring to Birmingham Rep from 21 – 30 August.   
  • David Moorst and Hilson Agbagbe star in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Bridge Theatre until 23 August.

Things to look forward to    

  • Matt Doyle will star in The Great Gatsby in the GS Arts Center in the Gangnam District of Seoul, South Korea, from 1 August – 9 November.  
  • Jeremy Irvine stars in the series Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which premieres on 8 August.  
  • Inspector Morse: House of Ghosts at the Birmingham Rep theatre from 28 August – 14 September features Lizzie Powell as Lighting Designer.  
  • Sam Swann stars in Hamlet at Chichester Festival Theatre from 6 September – 4 October. 
  • Harry Hadden-Paton and Arty Froushan star in Downtown Abbey: The Grand Finale, which will be released in cinemas on 12 September.  
  • Sam Jenkins-Shaw stars in Bacchae at the National Theatre which plays from 13 September – 1 November.  
  • Hamlet at the National Theatre stars Alistair Petrie and Hari McKinnon, with Sound Design by Alexandra Faye Braithwaite. The show runs from 25 September – 22 November.  
  • Brian Cox launches his 18-date one-man show, It's All About Me!, on 1 October at the Royal & Derngate Theatre in Northampton. 
  • Beauty and the Beast at the Northern Stage, which plays from 4 December 2025 – 3 January 2026, features Annie May Fletcher as Sound Designer.  
  • The documentary The Marbles, featuring Brian Cox, will premiere at the Central Scotland Documentary Festival in October 2025. 
  • Hedda, starring Tom Bateman, will have its world premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival in September 2025.  
  • Unforgivable, which will be broadcast on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer later this year, stars Anna Maxwell Martin
  • Andrea Davy and Simon Hepworth star in the 2025/2026 UK tour of To Kill a Mockingbird which begins in September. 
  • Katherine Parkinson joins John Lithgow in HBO's upcoming Harry Potter television series. 
  • Netflix has announced an adaptation of the Australian novel My Brilliant Career, which will star Anna Chancellor.  

LAMDA Alumni at the Camden Fringe   

  • Frat, which plays at the Lion and Unicorn Theatre from 28 – 31 July, is written by Max Allen and stars Max, Luke Stiles, Will Hammond and Elliott Diner.  
  • Turtle, which plays at Aces and Eights from 31 July – 7 August, stars Blake Stratso with Alex Osbourne directing.  
  • Romeo and Juliet: Out of Pocket, which plays at The Courtyard Theatre from 1 – 3 August and Arches Lane Theatre Season from 4 – 16 August, is created and performed by Eduardo Zucchi and Felicity Ison. 
  • 2.36, which plays at Etcetera Theatre from 1 – 3 August, stars Elijah Lifton.   
  • Too Much of Water, which plays at Old Red Lion Theatre from 2 – 3 August, is a Brock Looser Production.   
  • Metamorphoses, which plays at the Camden People’s Theatre from 3 – 4 August, stars Samuel Ferrer, Dilip Kumar, Natalia May, Grace Alice Murray, Max Pink and Oliver Winn. The show also plays at The Courtyard Theatre from 14 – 15 August.   
  • Woof, which plays at the Hen and Chickens Theatre on 3 and 4 August is directed by Austin Evans, and stars Philippine Fauchier-Magnan and Dani Rimada. 
  • We Have Not Long To Love, which plays at the Camden People’s Theatre from 7 – 9 August, is conceived by Carly Helms and Jacob Proctor, with a company of alumni players including Carly, Jacob, Rachel Dowsett, Saaya Vaidya, Luke Stiles, Lucy Krubiner, Austin Evans, Alex Holliday, Abigail Devine and Chéri McKenzie. 
  • Please Shoot The Messenger, which plays at the Hope Theatre from 13 – 15 August, stars Rachael Dowsett.   
  • Boy Crazy, which plays at the Canal Café Theatre from 15 – 16 August, is created and performed by Madeleine Bloxam.
