All about the course

Whether you’re an actor or a director, this course will look at all the different elements that go into making a micro-budget film.

In six days, in groups of five, you will write, film, edit and watch your own short film. You will gain insight into how each step of the process influences the next, taking a whistle-stop tour of story structure, script writing, continuity, camera shots, camera coverage and editing a film.

What will I learn?

  • Understanding the basic skills required to create a film on a low-to no-budget.

  • How to write a short film.

  • How the editing process affects the way a film looks.

  • How and why collaboration is key when making a film.

  • You will receive a first draft, rough edit of the film you make for your records.
