This course runs for one week in October 2025 and April 2026, and for two weeks in July 2026.
Our Introduction to Actor Training course is ideal for anyone who would like to experience a typical week of drama school training.

About the course
Experience drama school life with this introductory course, designed for anyone who is interested in training to be an actor.
You'll particiate in classes which reflect a typical timetable on a full-time course at LAMDA, with skills classes (Acting, Movement, Voice, Singing and Screen) in the morning, followed by project rehearsals in the afternoon. The course will culminate in a relaxed, informal sharing of your work. All classes and rehearsals will be led by expert LAMDA tutors and directors.
You'll leave the course with a clear understanding of what it's like to train at a modern drama conservatoire.

- Understand how to apply acting skills within a rehearsal project.

This course is suitable whatever your experience of acting or performing. You'll get the most out of this course if you're interested in studying drama, or are considering applying to drama school.
We encourage applications from prospective students of all ages to this course, and we will endeavour to place students in pairs and groups where they're working with others of a similar age.
This is a mixed level course, meaning participants will have a range of experiences.

This course is for participants aged 16+.
In order to train on this course, you should have a level of English that is approximately IELTS 6.0 or equivalent English Language experience.
You can test your level using the Cambridge English Language Assessment or the CEFR’s Self-Assessment Table. B2 Proficiency is roughly equivalent to IELTS 6.0.
