About the course

Explore how to select, prepare and perform monologues with this online course, designed for anyone auditioning for drama school.

Working with an expert LAMDA tutor, you'll learn techniques and approaches which will support you through your audition process.

You'll leave the course feeling able  to approach monologue preparation with independence and confidence.

Please note, this course is designed to introduce you to audition techniques and does not guarantee you a place on a drama school programme.

  3. Discover how to handle nerves and make an impact in the audition room

Is this course for me?

This course is suitable for you whatever your experience of acting or performing. You'll get the most out of this course if you're currently preparing for drama school auditions.

We encourage applications from prospective students of all ages to this course, and we will endeavour to place students in pairs and groups where they're working with others of a similar age.

Please note that this course aims to equip students with the skills to work independently on monologue preparation. Sessions are interactive and practical, but you will not be called upon to perform or workshop audition pieces.  

This is a mixed level course, meaning participants will have a range of experiences.

This course is for participants aged 16+. Please note there will be learners of all age groups on this course.

In order to train on this course, you should have a level of English that is approximately IELTS 6.0 or equivalent English Language experience.

You can test your level using the Cambridge English Language Assessment or the CEFR’s Self-Assessment Table. B2 Proficiency is roughly equivalent to IELTS 6.0.
