LAMDA Pathways Programme

About LAMDA Pathways Programme

LAMDA Pathways is an engagement and skills development programme which uses our reputation, expertise and facilities to remove the barriers that prevent young people from underrepresented backgrounds from accessing performance arts training, employment or activity.

Through the programme we work to create long term sustainable partnerships with selected schools, colleges and youth arts organisations in London and across the UK, particularly where there are high levels of social disadvantage and low rates of participation in higher education.

Through the Pathways Programme we offer:

Workshops at LAMDA or in your school/organisation. We offer the following workshops which build knowledge, experience and prepare young people for applying to drama school:

  • Introduction to Actor Training
  • Introduction to Production and Technical Arts
  • Introduction to Screen Acting / Audio performance
  • Audition Preparation
  • How to Self-Tape

Regional Hub ‘Introduction to Drama School’ days. These large-scale events take part at partner organisations around the country and invite young people from the area to explore the elements of actor training and ask questions about the process of applying to and studying at drama school. In 2023/24 we plan to run hub days in:

  • Manchester
  • Birmingham
  • Swindon
  • Stockton-on-Tees
  • South Wales
  • London

Audition fee waivers and bursaries specifically open to Pathways applicants

Teacher training which will aim to equip teachers and youth theatre leaders with the knowledge and skills to prepare their students for auditions and interviews

Complimentary tickets to performances at LAMDA

Students that join LAMDA from the Pathways Programme are further supported with mentoring, training and employment opportunities whilst studying through our Student and Graduate Ambassador Scheme.

Introduction to Drama School Day in London

On Saturday 13 January 2024, we welcomed young people from our Pathways partner organisations to explore actor training at drama school. Participants took part in acting, movement and voice workshops, and spoke to our current students and recent graduates about their experience training at LAMDA.
