Graduate Journeys: Lily O’Connor (Production & Technical Arts)

04 March 2026

From stage to screen and beyond, our recent graduates are already making their mark on the industry. Lily O'Connor graduated from our BA (Hons) Production & Technical Arts programme in 2024. Here, she reflects on her time training with us and what she's been working on since.

"Since graduating, I’ve worked on a wide range of productions, including Deputy Stage Manager (DSM) for Mary and the Hyenas at Hull Truck Theatre and Wilton’s Music Hall.

I was also the Company Stage Manager for The Daughter of Time at Charing Cross Theatre, and DSM for two musicals at the Bridewell Theatre. Another highlight was Stage Managing LAMDA’s first ever production at the Edinburgh Fringe, Into The Woods."

"LAMDA helped me build the confidence and resilience to thrive in a demanding industry."

"During my training, I gained experience in every department, supported by dedicated and passionate tutors. I also completed two West End placements: Elf at the Dominion Theatre (2022) and Mean Girls at the Savoy (2024).

These opportunities gave me both a broad skillset and first-hand knowledge of the professional theatre environment before graduating. LAMDA helped me build confidence and resilience, preparing me to thrive in a demanding industry.

The community is also something truly special. Many of my collaborators today are fellow LAMDA graduates, which makes me feel part of an inspiring and supportive network."
